Principal Investigator

Hebin Liu Ph.D.

Professor of IBMS

Dr. Hebin Liu is a Professor of Immunology at Institutes of Biomedical Science (IBMS), Soochow University School of Medicine. He received a PhD in Internal Medicine (infectious diseases) from Zhejiang University School of Medicine (2004), and a PhD in Molecular Biology from Umeå University, Sweden (2005), followed by postdoctoral fellowships in Immunology at Imperial College London (2005-2006) and at University of Cambridge (2006-2012). Before he joined Soochow University as a principal investigator, Dr. Liu served as a faculty member and a tenured associate professor at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU).

We are interested in probing howdysregulation ofhematopoietic cell adaptors contributes tothe pathogenesis of infectious diseases, immune-mediated diseases and cancer, and infurther investigating their potential as immunotherapeutic targets. The current researchinDr. Liu’s labhas focused on issues relating to:

1)Signaling via immune adaptors such as SLP-76 and ADAP inimmune-mediated diseases and cancer;

2)Immune regulation by adaptor proteins in immunity to and immune evasion by RNA viruses;

3)GITR signaling in the pathogenesis of breast cancer;

4)Nuclear pore complex (NPC) as signaling platforms in health and disease.
