About the Speaker
Qiang Liu is a professor at the Department of Life Science and Medicine, University of Science and Technology of China.He is currently the Executive Director of the Research Center for Brain Aging and Brain Diseases, Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Brain Function and Brain Diseases, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Deputy Director of the Anhui Key Laboratory of Aging Biomedicine, and Deputy Director of the Department of Neuroscience, National Research Center for Microscale Matter Science, Hefei.
Currently, he serves as vice Chairman of the Aging Biology Branch of the Chinese Biophysical Society and vice Chairman of the Cognitive Disorders Branch of the China Medical Promotion Association. He was a postdoctoral fellow and research associate at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine/Howard Hughes Institute. His research focuses on molecular, cellular, and genetic mechanisms in epigenetic regulation, neurodegenerative diseases, and regulation of energy metabolism. In recent years, he has published significant research findings in Cell, Neuron, Trends in Neurosciences, and other high-profile international journals, and the articles have been cited more than 4000 times.
