报告人简介
Dr. Hardwick is the David Bodian endowed Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, and is appointed in the Departments of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, and in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Departments of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences, Neurology and Oncology. Her research focuses on cell death mechanisms in disease pathogenesis. She studies viral and fungal pathogens of the brain, anti-death mechanisms of cancer cells, and mechanisms of neurodegeneration due to defective autophagy. The overall goal of her research is to understand and ameliorate disease by protecting irreplaceable cells and eliminating dangerous cells. She has published many highly cited articles, has spoken at the major scientific venues and has trained many students and postdocs who are now leaders in their fields.
