Biography
Prof Qimin Zhan is a world-renowned molecular oncologist and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He used to work for Peking University as Deputy President and currently serves as Dean of Suzhou Medical College at Soochow University. He has been long committed to the research of molecular biology of tumors and translational medicine of tumors. In recent years, he has comprehensively and systematically revealed the genetic mutation background of esophageal cancer at the genomic level, providing a theoretical and experimental basis for understanding the pathogenesis of esophageal cancer, finding molecular markers for the diagnosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, and determining drug targets for clinical treatment.
His research is at the international forefront of the field and is highly recognized by peers domestically and internationally. He has published over 270 SCI papers, including in journals such as Nature, Cell, Cell Research, Nature Communication, JCI, PNAS, Science, EMBO, Cancer Res, and Oncogene. His scientific papers have been cited over 16,200 times in SCI. He has edited or translated 7 academic works, applied for 14 invention patents, and obtained 8 authorized patents. He has been invited to deliver over 120 keynote speeches at domestic and international academic conferences and served as chairman of international conferences or bilateral meetings 15 times. He has been invited to serve as an editorial board member for international biomedical and oncology journals such as Cancer Cell, JBC, Molecular Oncology, and Carcinogenesis. He is the editor-in-chief of Data Health and Medical Review and the deputy editor-in-chief of Science Bulletin and Chinese Journal of Oncology. He has also been invited to write reviews for important international oncology journals such as British J Cancer and Mutation Res.
