On May 11, 2023, Clarivate Analytics released the latest ESI discipline ranking. Pharmacology and toxicology of Soochow University, together with clinical medicine, ranked among the top 1‰ globally.
The Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database, an authoritative analysis and evaluation tool to measure scientific research performance and track scientific development trends, has been widely used internationally to evaluate the scientific research level and influence of academic institutions and universities.ESI ranking primarily reflects the international competitiveness and reputation of the discipline.
So far, four disciplines of our university, including pharmacology and toxicology, clinical medicine, chemistry, and materials, have all ranked among the top 1‰ in the world, which marks a new stage in the ability of Soochow University to serve the innovation and development of the biomedical industry.This breakthrough is the fruit of Soochow University'scontinuous efforts to advance the breadth and depth of science and technology, actively promote scientific and technological self-reliance, and constantly strengthen discipline constructionby facing theworld's scientific and technical frontier,the main battlefield of the economy, the major needs of the country, and the life and health of the people.
The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences will take this opportunity to plan the strategic layout of discipline development further, refine the characteristic direction, gather academic strength, and constantly improve innovation ability and academic influence.
