Research Interests:
Myresearch interests include solid state chemistry, environmental chemistry, and materials chemistry of actinides and their fission products relevant to the nuclear fuel cycle.
Research Experience andAccomplishments:
Prof. Shuao Wang received his BSc in Material Chemistry at University of Science and Technology of China (2007) and Ph.D. in Environmental Radiochemistry at University of Notre Dame (2012) under the direction ofGregory R. Choppin ProfessorThomas E. Albrecht-Schmitt, who is now in Florida State University.After a short postdocperiodat Lawrence Berkeley NationalLaboratoryand University of California, Berkeley (2013) with Prof. Jeffrey R. Long and Dr. David K. Shuh, he became a faculty member of School for Radiological and Interdisciplinary Sciences of Soochow University as a full professor. Prof. Shuao Wang haspublished more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles, with the majority appearing at the top journals in the areas of inorganic, materials, and environmental chemistry. He received multiple prestigious awards including the 2012 DIC Young Investigator Award (American Chemical Society) and 2012 Ludo Frevel Crystallography Award (the International Center for Diffraction Data).He was awarded into the 2013 One Thousand Plan for Young Talents project funded by the Chinese Government.He is alsotherecipientof the ExcellentYoungScientistFoundation of NSFC, and theScience Fund for Distinguished Youthof Jiangsu Province.
